The 5.56 mm Automatic Subcarbine wz. 96 Mini-Beryl is a shortened version of the wz. 96 Beryl Assault Rifle, designed for soldiers in need of a weapon with comparable firepower but smaller dimensions. It is a combat-proven design, reliable, durable, accurate, and resistant to adverse environmental conditions. Thanks to its compact size, the Mini-Beryl is easy to carry and convenient for urban combat. The Mini-Beryl subcarbine features fixed mechanical sights with integral tritium light sources for day and night aiming. Additional optical and optoelectronic sights, as well as additional accessories such as tactical lighting or laser target pointers/illuminators, can be mounted on the universal mounting rail, which is a permanent feature of the weapon and the handguard assembly consisting of four universal mounting rails. The Mini-Beryl is equipped with a fixed telescopic stock with adjustable position, and a folding stock version is also available. For better weapon manipulation, an ergonomic pistol grip and front grip have been introduced, which can be either fixed (integrated with the handguard) or detachable (mounted on the lower mounting rail of the handguard assembly). The subcarbine is adapted for firing rifle grenades using live ammunition.
